A Tokubetsu (Special) Jounin level ninja, she is the examiner for the second part of the Chuunin Selection Exam of which Naruto takes part in. The second part of the exam takes place in "The Forest of Death", it is here that we find out Anko's past is linked with Orochimaru, he being her former sensei. During that time it seems she had also received the "Jyuin (Curse Seal)", but for an as yet unknown reason Orochimaru's connection to her was severed and the Seal disappeared. Though when Orochimaru reappeared, he was able to make Anko's Jyuin return. Thus incapacitating her with pain, as well as ending their fight. In which Anko exhibited forbidden techniques which she learned from Orochimaru
